Frequently asked questions about our gyms in Cardiff

  • Most of our gyms in Cardiff have free parking, however Cardiff Central does not offer free parking. Check the individual gym homepages to get more information on parking and public transport links. PureGym is not responsible for any parking fines.

  • All the gyms in Cardiff are open 24 hours a day.

  • PureGym memberships are contract-free, so you can join without committing to staying for longer periods. We also do 1, 3, 7, and 30 day passes if you’d rather try the gym for a shorter period before joining.

  • All our gyms in Cardiff offer a mix of free weights, plate loaded, cable, and fixed resistance machines, cardio machines, and functional equipment. The equipment between gyms may vary slightly.

  • All the gyms in Cardiff run group fitness classes throughout the week, which are included in your membership. Class timetables vary between each gym. To see what classes are on, visit the individual gym pages or download the free PureGym app.

  • All the gyms in Cardiff have a friendly team of Personal Trainers available to hire. PTs can help you to achieve your fitness goals in several ways including 121 training sessions and bespoke fitness programmes. Check out the gym homepages or visit the PT hub within the gym to find a Personal Trainer. Personal Training is not included in your PureGym membership.

  • All the gyms in Cardiff have male and female changing areas with individual showers, free lockers, hairdryers, and spare plug sockets, as well as toilets. You’ll need to bring your own padlock for the lockers. Changing rooms are closed between 12-3am but there are toilets and lockers on the gym floor.

  • None of our gyms in Cardiff currently have a ladies’ only section.

  • Members need to be at least 16 years old to sign up for a PureGym membership.

  • All the gyms in Cardiff have free 02 WiFi. Simply select the 02 WiFi and follow the instructions in the browser to log in.

  • We do not have facilities like swimming pools or spas in any of our gyms. This helps us to keep the cost of our memberships down so that more people can afford to join the gym.

Best gyms for students

If you're a student in Cardiff looking for a cheap gym, you're in the right place. All of our gyms are student friendly, but PureGym Cardiff Central is closest to Cardiff University at just 0.7 miles away, and our Cardiff Western Avenue gym is just 0.5 miles from Cardiff Metropolitan University. Best gym for classes

No matter which PureGym you join, you get unlimited access to classes included in your membership, and all of our gyms offer a wide range of classes to try. PureGym Cardiff Gate has a slightly more extensive timetable, with classes starting from 6.15am and running up til 8.30pm, followed closely by Cardiff Bay.

Best gym for beginners

Beginners are welcome at all of our Cardiff gyms, and you'll find a wide range of inductions and learn to lift workshops aimed at getting beginners more confident with equipment and exercises in the gym. PureGym Cardiff Gate has slightly more of these classes on the timetable, so may be a good choice for beginners.

Best gym for commuters

Prefer calisthenics and functional style training to traditional weight lifting? You can still get your preferred workout in our Cardiff gyms. PureGym Cardiff Central, Cardiff Bay, and Cardiff Western Avenue all have large functiona training zones complete with functional kit such as rigs, sleds, plyo boxes, and more.
