Soho Borough transition to PureGym - FAQs

PureGym are very excited about bringing our high quality, low cost model to your gym in Borough. You should now have received an email about changes to your membership, and the below should help with any further questions you have.   • Your membership will automatically be transferred over to PureGym and no action is needed by yourself. You will be advised in an email (or letter, depending on contact details) of the dates when the transfer will take place. You will then receive a secondary communication confirming your new membership rate and payment details.

  • The transfer to PureGym gives our members access to fantastic, affordable fitness in the same great location, which we know works for them. PureGym has some exciting plans for the club, which will include a new functional area, improved kit and classes. There are some great benefits to being part of the biggest gym chain in the UK, including improvement in facilities and optional access to up over 200 PureGyms throughout the UK if you choose to upgrade to a multi gym membership.

  • We are sorry that you want to cancel your membership. PureGym has some exciting plans for the gym and we really think you will be impressed with the facilities once completed. We would recommend waiting until the club re-opens to allow you to get a feel for the new club.

  • We’d love to welcome you to PureGym Borough when it opens.

    • If you would like us to transfer your membership so you can use the gym when your gym reopens, please get in touch on 0113 218 2667 to re-activate your membership before 15th October.
    • If you transfer over your membership you’ll benefit from a low monthly membership price of £24.99 per month, which you’ll keep for as long as you remain a member on this membership option.
    • If we don’t hear from you, we’ll cancel your membership on 23rd October
    • You’ll be welcome to join PureGym at any point in the future, but may need to pay a joining fee (if applicable)
  • The club will close on 23rd October. Members will continue to access the club and its facilities until this date. During the closure you will be able to access any of the other 200+ PureGyms in the UK absolutely free.

  • Your membership will be frozen for the duration of the closure period without charge, and will restart on the day the club opens in late November. Your first Direct Debit will be taken by PureGym on the day the club reopens.

    During the closure period, you’ll have free access to 200+ other PureGyms. Check out all the PureGyms in London here.

  • The club will close on 23rd October and undergo a significant investment during its refurbishment, which will include

    • An enhanced functional zone
    • New functional classes
    • Improved free weights area
    • Exciting new kit
    • Dedicated cycle studio

    The gym will reopen in late November. Part of the refurbishment plan will involve the removal of the sauna, sunbeds and protein shake bar. These works are essential to enable us to bring you improvements to facilities while keeping membership costs low.

  • One of the benefits of being part of PureGym is affordable gym membership. Exact details of your membership changes have been sent to you. Your membership fee will be £24.99 per month once the club reopens and will stay at that price for as long as you're a member of PureGym London Borough on a standard monthly membership.

  • Existing Paid in Full memberships will be transferred over to PureGym, where the remainder of your balance will be used to pay for your PureGym membership, based on the membership rate of £24.99.

    As relevant, we’ll extend the term of your membership at this new rate until the balance on your account expires.

    The details of your account balance will be communicated to you within the coming weeks.

  • No. We will take this into account when working out how many days we will extend your membership for.

  • Prior to the closure you will have full access to the club's facilities, with the exception of the sauna and steam room, which are not currently safe for use. There may be some disruption required to ensure the extensive refurbishment programme can start immediately after closure. You will also have free access to over 200 PureGyms  during the closure period, free of charge. We will of course inform you of this nearer the time, but presently there are no requirements to compensate members for a loss of facility.

  • Your current locker hire agreement will end upon the gym's closure and no further action will be required from you.

    Please ensure that your locker is completely cleared out before the club closes, as any kit left in the lockers after this date will be removed and may be destroyed.

  • Your current towel hire agreement will end when the gym closes for refurbishment on 23rd October and no further action will be required from you.

  • If you have a top up card, ensure that you use any remaining balance before the gym closes on 23rd October as you will not be able to use this after conversion. If you would like a refund on your remaining balance, please get in touch with the PureGym Member Services team via Facebook Messenger, email or by phone on 0113 218 2667.

  • There are some great benefits to being part of the biggest gym chain in the UK, including:

    • Low monthly membership fees - £24.99 per month
    • No contract membership
    • A newly refurbished club, in the same great location
    • Access to more than 50 free classes a week
    • Optional access to over 200 PureGym’s throughout the UK*

    *Subject to a multi membership

  • As a PureGym member you’ll have access to more than 50 free classes a week. Classes will be available to book via the PureGym app shortly before gym reopening.

  • If you have personal training sessions at your gym, these should be able to continue during the closure: your PT will be able to operate out of another PureGym while the refurbishment work is happening.

     

    If you have pre-booked PT sessions, please get in touch with your personal trainer directly to adjust or cancel these.

     

    Please note, all PTs are self-employed. If you do have PT sessions booked, this is a contract solely between you and your PT. We will not be liable or responsible for outstanding monies paid to a Personal Trainer.

  • Your payment date will be the day the gym reopens in late November.

    3 days following your first payment, you can easily update your payment dates and information via the members area of the PureGym site. For more information please get in touch with the PureGym Member Services team via Facebook Messenger, email or by phone on 0113 218 2667.

  • No, once the gym closes on 23rd October you will no longer be able to access other Soho gyms. If you would like to move your membership to another SOHO gym then please contact the PureGym Member Services team via Facebook Messenger, email or by phone on 0113 218 2667.

  • You’ll have free access to 200+ other PureGyms during the closure period. If you’d like to continue using any of these once your gym reopens, you can easily upgrade your membership to Multi access via the Members Area of the PureGym website 30 days after the gym opens.
