Cambridge Leisure Park member reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Gym, Always Open! I've been with PureGym for about 4 months now, I've never had any problems and they have most of the things I require (apart from a punch bag/standing punch bag, which I feel would give the gym more or less everything one could need). There is a lot of kit, which is ideal as when it gets busy there is generally enough to go around. The only inconvenience I have experienced was my code not working when exiting, I was pressing the buzzer for assistance but nobody came so I ended up having to find a member of staff (who acted as if I was causing her a bit of an inconvenience!). But other than that, PureGym has been great, especially for the price I pay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Room for improvement I love that it's 24hrs as I work shifts so ideal and value for money. Size is great and 2hrs free park love it. I love it you have wi-fi as sometimes I like to multi task whilst at the gym. I do feel that more staff present would be good as I'm an asthmatic which doesn't like exercise plus other things, also I have another medical problem and i would feel more safer and confident knowing there was more staff keeping an eye out. I think some areas could be bigger, more lockers and there seems to be a lack of equipment in some areas. Some gyms I've been in if a staff member hasn't seen you before you they will introduce themselves or if you a regular they will say hello, they acknowledged people.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor gym: overcrowded, silly classes I've been at puregym for two years. The quality of the classes does not come close to what is offered by main stream programs such as LesMills etc.. Most classes are short (30min) and often do not even last the full 1/2 an hour. Moreover, these are often oversuscribed and you need to register in a waiting list to attend. Classes are often packed, and their quality is generally poor, with little logic in the sequence of the exercices. Puregym would benefit by hiring proper qualified trainers and increasing the number, duration and quality of the classes. The gym in itself is ok, with average quality machines. The fact that you cannot stay longer than two hours (changing yourself + training + shower) prior to being charged for the parking (min charge £2) is also a serious limitations. If you want to progress, find yourself a proper traditional gym.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fast fitness Classes are too short and most instructors don't correct people individually, like I feel they should. Also, instructors are constantly coming and going which can be annoying when you're keen on a certain class/instructor combo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Value for Money Fitness Training at Pure Gym for a month now as it's conveniently located next to Cambridge train station and my office. Registering online is a breeze with options to tailor your membership. Getting in and out of the gym is super easy a unique code gives you access anytime... the same cannot be said about the spiral staircase after leg day. Gym can get busy during peak times so it's better to go in the morning if your an early riser, unlike me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best classes I've ever been to The classes at Pure Gym are of a consistently outstanding quality. They allow each participant to push themselves to the max and seem carefully preplanned so as to get a full body workout in 30 minutes. The moves are easy to transfer to a solo gym workout and the instructors are always keen to provide extra knowledge or insight into how to improve. My body has transformed since beginning these classes, and I recommend them highly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cambridge PureGym I Signed up with Pure last year and I think that the gym is pretty decent !! The PTs there are of good quality. The main issue I would have is that the showers are either freezing or like boiled water. Equipment is good could do with more Olympic bars and taller 10k weights as the PTs use their own. Other than the above to round up it's a decent place to workout and I have converted a few friends to workout there as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Gym Excellent gym, great equipment and atmosphere. Could do with a few extra things like another small straight bar, another bench and another squat rack for busier times. The hamstring curl machine is difficult to use, but all other machines are great. Staff can be a bit difficult to find sometimes even in standard hours, which can be an issue if the doors aren't working etc. Overall great gym.
