London Bermondsey member reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by LH21 from Large gym, too busy, lack of member control I have been using Pure Gym Bermondsey for a while now due purely to it's location. If you know how to train, it's great. If you want some guidance and support, this is not the gym for you. I go very early morning or very late at night to try and get some sort of equipment as the gym is paaacked at peak times. Sweaty atmosphere and no where to even walk through to reach where you want to train. There are often underage boys in there messing around or aggressive men training in groups. Staff do nothing to help. Personal trainers can be unprofessional when training together and when training their clients - on their phones, slouched over them, unenthusiastic. I wissshhh this club would get another squat rack or two! Or olympic area or two - they are by far the most popular pieces of equipment and it is such a struggle to get a go on one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jazz081 from Good quality gym, but too crowded and bad atmosphe I've been a member of Puregym for a couple of years now. The Bermondsey location is literally the only place within reasonable distance I could get to with a gym. If I had any alternatives to this gym I think I probably would leave. While the choice of equipment is decent and its actually quite large, it is almost always too busy. Even in the middle of the day during the week its very difficult to get a squat rack or even a barbell. I think this is due to the lack of competition for gyms in the area, meaning everyone goes here instead. The gym is generally clean and well maintained, and weights are usually put back into place. The staff are seemingly friendly and helpful. However, the gym does suffer from an intimidating unfriendly atmosphere caused by loud aggressive members shouting at each other across the room and taking up equipment. Often people are walking around with their tops off, loudly banging around and shouting at the top of their voices. I've found this can be pretty offputting for your average gym goer and I've noticed some members sheepishly avoiding using the weight room. The staff are seemingly powerless to do anything about it, in fact they generally appear to encourage it or be part of the problem

Rated 4 out of 5 by raymond from Some suggestions Here just some suggestions... in here the male changing room is quite big, why don’t install some bench at the middle of the changing room. That’s will useful the space. The clock of the changing room is not working more than 2 weeks, and the hair dryer is no working for weeks ago. Why no one fix it?

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ldedes from Extremely busy and weights untidy Ridiculously busy, surely must be oversubscribed. The weights are never in their place and no member of staff ever seems to put them back - complete contrast to canary wharf puregym.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fitness Fanatic from Well Equipped, Spacious but very very messy! This is the largest and best-equipped gym I have ever been in nearly 38 years of training but it is incredibly messy. I start my workout very early, between 03:00 – 04:00 and I have to spend ~10 minutes to tide the space where I am working out, usually around the Squat rack, as I can’t work in a messy space. Most people never unload the barbells, even if they know you are the next one to use them, and they seldom replace the dumbbells. I suppose you always get what you are paying for!

Rated 3 out of 5 by samszc from Good gym but messy I’ve been using the gym for 3 months. They have lots of equipment but the dumbbell racks desperately need labels so that there are some order to the weights. I waste 5 minutes per hour session trying to find the right dumbells. The signs say ‘put weights back after use’ but put them back where? Nobody knows their true place and they end up anywhere m, 45kg next to 12kg, 22kg next to 35 kg. Easy fix but nobody has actioned this
