Rated 3 out of 5 by Becky48738738 from Great gym - but why no towels/soap?! Ive been at pure gym for years and have a multi gym account. I've recently moved to central London where many people go to the gym at lunch time. This gym has no towels (unless you pay?!) and not even simple body soap in the showers?! This is surely completely irrational if you're targeting city workers who want to go around working times, please please change this soon - it will almost guarantee more members.

Rated 1 out of 5 by PGUser123 from Very disappointed and major improvement required! I feel that this gym is in major need of improvement. Most of the staff, be that PT's, Managers seem to be pretty unfriendly and unapproachable, and additionally appear to me like they would rather be anywhere but there. The machines are very poorly maintained, filthy and grubby. When you report any broken equipment, the staff do not seem to be the least bit interested and certainly do not log anything down. One of the treadmills has been out of action for months, the mens toilet and changing room feels like a tropical rain forrest, with extremely poor ventilation, which makes it feel extremely claustrophobic! The layout also seems very unusual to say the least! Also the Gym's patrons seems to be made of mostly foreign nationals, who have limited manners, and just barge past each other, let doors slam on you or generally just generally hog the equipment! Obviously, I cannot hold PureGym responsible for this point, but it does not make a friendly environment to work out in! Additionally, I am fully aware that PureGym is a budget chain, but this branch is by far the worst I've been in. Tips for improvement; new management is urgently required, which could lead to boosting of staff moral will definately be a good start, followed by intense staff retraining, that will go a long way to rectify the manner of their conduct, and will also likely lead to a major improvement of hygiene and cleanliness of the equipment. Fixing the ventilation in the changing rooms will make the place feel a lot better too, possibly a good overhaul of the layout may also benefit the comfort too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by barb13 from Spin classes Can we please have some happy upbeat music in spin. Not the music that sounds like the tapes been mangled or the engines warming up. With words that don't contain swear words and don't tell you how depressing life is. Also that the trainer does not have to go 1, 2, too because it has no beat, no dubstep or grime. Spin is supposed to be a high energy class full of enthusiasm, that you work hard and feel good at the end of.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ProV from Great Gym Great Gym ... however I have been doing a lot of the classes, and have been doing classes for the past 10 months. However, I feel as though the classes have not changed and have been the same for quite some time. It's getting kind of boring and i can tell the class attendance is decreasing. Please change the classes up a bit ... e.g. have circuits, bootcamp or kettlecise for the evening classes from 5pm onwards!

Rated 2 out of 5 by lllp from Plenty of machines but no space in changing rooms Changing rooms leave a lot to be desired both on and off peak times. Male rooms have lots of lockers but you are packed like sardines which is not what you want while changing...shower cubicles are few, smell funny and there is no shower grate in cubicles for disposal of shower water- USED WATER ACCUMULATES! However it is well equipped and sufficient classes (though sadly not as many around pre and post work mornings and afternoon - for a central London location where people start early there should be much earlier and later classes imho). If not using showers and changing rooms this is a good gym...

Rated 4 out of 5 by ninjasare from Good value for money. Ive been with Pure Gym just over a year. For what you pay you get excellent service. If you want pristine change rooms and unlimited equipment then you need to pay double (or triple!) and go to Virgin or Equinox. The gym is clean, I've not had trouble getting a treadmill even at peak times and I really enjoy the classes. If you like classes then i recommend upgrading your membership so you get more access and you wont miss out.
