Rated 4 out of 5 by Pmfji024 from Turn the music down in the workout classes please! I really wish that the staff would moderate the music to a “sensible” level, preferably so we can hear the instructions, rather than blaze out these horrible beats at over a million desibels! If they master this the quality of the classes would definitely improve. Equipment is reasonably good, with a decent choice too. though it sometimes can take them a few months to fix things. Most of the staff are reasonably friendly, but they do seem to change on quite a regular basis so it’s difficult to get to know their routines or build a rapport. Can be extremely busy at peak times, as the young boys like to train in packs of 6, and spend several hours on one piece of equipment! Reasonable price though, so no complaints here.

Rated 3 out of 5 by FrustratedofGrays from Cheap and friendly but several issues Pros Great location, free parking, cheap membership, friendly staff, good equipment Cons 1) Only having 2 doors to get in/out causes huge delays at peak times. 2) Some members ignore the class booking system so classes can be too packed. E.g. 35 people in a Pump class is dangerous. Surely the instructor should only allow in those who have booked. 3) If classes are overbooked, the equipment runs out. 4) Instructors for many of the classes do not discuss technique/form before each move so it’s not always obvious which muscles I should be using. 5) The music is too loud for us to hear the instructions. 6) The aerobics type class instructors are lovely but please can they be encouraged to look at how classes should be taught: (a) they do the same move and routine over and over and over – it’s boring, routines are too short and too easy. We should be progressing. Motivate us. (b) they don’t work in time to the music – please work in time with the beat. (c) they don‘t work with the music i.e. 4 reps or 8 reps, not 5 or 3. It’s easy to trip, especially with the Step, if you keep changing what you’re doing and when, as we’re now trying to copy you rather than knowing what we’re doing (d) with weights, they often exercise too fast to allow you to concentrate on technique/form. (e) they don’t work both sides of the body equally and they want you to stretch muscles you never used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by averagegymuser from Excellent gym I've been a member of pure for around 7 months and it's definitely worth the money! I was previously a member of a high end gym in the area, which had a swimming pool and sauna etc, yet the price was too much so I decided to change. The majority of staff here are incredibly friendly, and are willing to help and chat. Some people, including myself at times, may feel intimidated bybodybuilders but it eases you since all the cardio machines are upstairs. My only gripe is despite the amount of machines they have, they are not completely up to date. For example, only 4 of the 16 cross-trainers have an incline option. This however, is not so important to not come to this gym as the value for money is great. Also, it would be nice to have ropes but that's okay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jayjay89 from Love my classes!!! Great gym! I signed up to pure gym a couple of months ago and it’s the best thing I did! The classes are he best and they push you to the limit!. I feel like I do more and body aches when I have someone showing me and pushing me. I love the variety of classes and that you can still do your own routine as there are so much equipment. If you were looking for a personal routine they can cater it to uiur needs. I feel like in the long run if I commit I will be able to lose weight and get toned in no time! Thanx for giving me confidence back! I can do this!!
