Hi, I'm Mel, Gym Manager and Personal Trainer at PureGym Portishead.
I have over 18 years experience of working in the fitness industry both in New Zealand and the UK and have a vast knowledge of fitness and nutrition.
I enjoy all sorts of training functional, strength and cardiovascular fitness and if you have been to my classes, you will know I also love group exercise and I know how combing gym sessions and classes will have a positive impact on your body and mind.
I believe everyone is on their own fitness journey. No matter how long they have been a member of a gym for, everyone is striving to be a better version of themselves. As we get older we change and evolve and everyone’s fitness journey is just the same. Our goals and needs change and so our training needs to change too.
I have 2 children and know just how hard it is for mums to get their confidence back after having children. Body confidence and mental well-being are a huge part of your fitness journey and this is something I really want to support my clients with. We all have insecurities but we can make this better by having a healthy relationship with food and exercise and making sure the gym is something to be enjoyed not something to dread.
