Five years ago I suffered a life-changing injury and was told I could never train again. Due to being told this terrible news, I no longer felt that it was as important to eat healthy and I started to eat a lot of junk food.
After two years of inactivity and unhealthy eating I gained 6 stones in weight and was subsequently left with zero confidence and low self esteem. This was a very depressing time in my life and I knew that if I didn't make drastic changes to my lifestyle, it would only get worse. So I ignored the advice of my doctor and decided to train again and after six months of following a strict training programme and diet plan, I was able to shed 6 stones of body fat and now I feel like my old self again.
So I guess it's true what they say a healthy body equals a healthy mind!
