Phil Shoyer

I have worked in the fitness industry for over 20 years and have been based here in the Bristol Harbourside gym for the last 10 years. Throughout my career I have worked as a Personal Trainer for David Lloyd Leisure, Esporta and Fitness First and I hold an honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science.

Over the years I have helped hundreds of clients achieve their health and fitness goals; I consider my main area of expertise to be the psychology of wellness. With the advent of the internet, and the abundance of information available regarding diet and fitness, most of us know what we are supposed to do to be healthy but actually implementing it into busy modern lifestyles is the hard part. It is my job to analyse every aspect of your lifestyle and help you employ realistic strategies to make improvements.

My approach to training is based on years of study of biomechanics, physiology and psychology. I have not just completed a six week course and gone straight in to being a PT as with many of the trainers currently in the industry. My approach is to pass my education on to my clients and provide them with all the tools necessary to complete their goals.
