The reopening of your gym

How we will reopen your gym

  • The vast majority of our 270+ gyms are open across the UK with the exception of:

    • London Holloway Road, which is closed for refurbishment
    • Gyms in Liverpool (Aintree, Bromborough, Liverpool Brunswick, Liverpool Central, Runcorn, Widnes, Wirral Bidston Moss) which were temporarily closed due to local restrictions are due to re-open on Saturday 24th October.
    • Gyms in Wales will be temporarily closed from 6pm on Friday 23rd October until Monday 9th November following instruction from the Welsh Government

In Medium, High and Very High tier areas in England, gyms can remain open and classes will continue running. In Very High tier areas, gyms may close depending on local guidance, but we will update members of impacted gyms with details as soon as we receive news of any additional closures. All Scottish and Northern Irish gyms remain open.

If your gym has to close due to local restrictions, your regular payments will be frozen, and you will not be charged for the time that your gym is closed.

Please check your gym's homepage to check your local PureGym is open and it's opening hours before planning your visit to the gym.

We will notify members at London Holloway Road and our Liverpool gyms directly as soon as we can confirm opening dates for these gyms.

  • Gyms have been given the approval to stay open in all 3 tiers.

The safety of employees and members is our first priority and we recognise the extreme challenges confronting national and local authorities in trying to control the rising Covid-19 cases.

We believe it is important for the health of the nation that fitness facilities remain open.

  • After confirmation from the Government, we are delighted to confirm we will be re-opening our gyms in Liverpool from Saturday 24th October.

  • It's really important that we keep our members and our staff safe and so to help us do this we have temporarily reduced our opening hours. As soon as we can safely increase our hours we will do so and will update each gym page with the new opening hours.

We know that being able to use our gyms 24/7 is really important for many of our members and so we are carefully reintroducing this in some gyms.

Any gym operating 24 hours will maintain the high safety standards we have put in place.  The gym will be deep cleaned through the night, cleaning stations will be available for use before and after using kit and social distance measures will still be in place. Our gyms are monitored by our CCTV team overnight and any safety issues can be flagged to the team via the Help Points who will ensure these are resolved.

If you do use the gym during the night time hours, please ensure you follow the TrainSafe guidelines to keep yourself and others safe.

  • We want to keep you safe, so we want to ensure the gym never gets too busy. That is why we will be restricting the number of members in the gym. Before you visit, you can check the app to see the maximum capacity and how many people are currently there and expected busy periods. This will allow you to visit at a quieter time to enjoy your workout.

  • It is very unlikely that you will need to book a gym slot. However, we have developed our app so that if your gym does get very busy we can ensure everyone's safety by switching on a booking system. We will only do this if we really need to and if we do, we expect this to be only for a few hours per week.

At a select number of gyms, booking slots are required at peak times. We will let you know in advance if booking is required at your gym.

  • We're accepting new joiners now!

Just head to your gym's page, and follow the joining process.
