Toffee Apple Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

We’ve taken that cozy caramel-apple flavor and wrapped it into a bakery favorite to create Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls – the perfect Christmas morning snack, holiday dessert, or a delicious addition to a festive brunch spread.
With soft, fluffy dough, plenty of warm cinnamon, and a gooey caramel-apple filling, these rolls are guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser… though we won’t blame you one bit if you decide not to share.
You’ll want to set aside a little time to make our cinnamon rolls, but once they’re prepped, they only need about 30 minutes in the oven. Pro tip: we use slightly less surgar than traditional recipes and sugar-free caramel syrup to help cut down the calories without sacrificing any flavor!

Ingredients
Dough:
- 5 cups white bread flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tbs) ofactive dry yeast
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- ½ stick unsalted butter
- 1 cup + 2 tbs low-fat milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
Apple Filling:
- 3 medium apples
- 1 tsp light butter
- 1 ½ tbsp light brown sugar
Cinnamon Butter:
- ¼ cup (½ stick) butter, softened
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Glaze:
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp almond milk
Topping:
- 2 tbsp sugar-free caramel syrup
Method
- Add the flour, yeast, and sugar to a bowl and mix to combine.
- Add the butter and rub it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Warm the milk and pour it into the bowl along with the vanilla and egg.
- Knead by hand or with a dough hook for 8–10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and springy.
- Lightly spray a mixing bowl with nonstick cooking spray, place the dough inside, and cover with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel. Let the dough rise for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Line a rectangular baking pan with parchment paper.
- Peel and chop the apples into small cubes.
- Add the apples, butter, and sugar to a pan with a splash of water and cook until the apples are soft and sticky. Let cool.
- Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough out into a large rectangle.
- Mix together the cinnamon butter ingredients and spread evenly over the dough.
- Spoon the cooled apple filling over the top.
- Roll the dough tightly from the long side to form a log, then slice into 12 even rolls.
- Place the rolls into the greased baking dish so they’re touching.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and risen.
- Let the rolls cool slightly while you prepare the glaze.
- Whisk together the glaze ingredients and generously pour over the warm rolls.
- Drizzle with extra sugar-free caramel syrup.
