Manchester Eccles gym reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good after the reopening Place was shut down for a week around Easter because of a pipe leak that required replacing some of the flooring in parts of the gym. Since reopening, it is looking fresher and well maintained with a more regular and visible presence of staff cleaning weights and machines. Some users get a bit lazy with regards to reracking freeweights at busy times when they are done with their sets but otherwise, this is one of the better run Pure Gym locations I've been to with plenty of space, high ceilings and air conditioning (surprisingly, some Pure Gyms locations do not have A/C and they can be stiflingly hot and uncomfortable) to work out in a good and hygienic environment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hand sanitisers and hygiene Hello, I've been asking for weeks from all staff including managers, to bring some hand sanitisers around the gym so we can keep good hygiene but never happened. They've been telling me there is no sanitiser, they used to do in the past, and that they don't know why there isn't any around. If the managers don't know then who knows??? I don't understand what the problem is, they are inexpensive and very important to keep good hygiene. All indoor places have many, why Puregym can't have any? Also, you've got some great cleaning staff, please ask them to sanitise all used surfaces regularly with a spray. I've been working out several times a week in hours ranging from afternoon to very late in the evening and next morning up to 3am.. it looks that the cleaning staff were not instructed to spray and wipe the machines. There is lack of management in this I believe. Overall, please consider putting hygiene priority number one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent space, well laid out Hadn't been to this gym in a while and it had moved location but was very happy once inside. The gym is well laid out with plenty of machines and it was very clean and airy especially upstairs. I didn't go into the changing rooms as was already set to go and used an outside locker but if the rest of the gym was anything btonginby would assume they were very good too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean, well sign posted and friendly staff First visit today. I joined a step class by myself but didn't feel left out. The staff member was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely return to the class and have now booked a body tone class.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brilliant gym poor disabled showers The gym itself is excellent but there are no seating facilities to get changed and nowhere to put your clothes while you dry yourself

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the best gym visit! I struggle attending this gym generally as since they moved to a much much smaller unit on the retail park it’s now regularly overcrowded and messy. To make matters worse they suffered a leak over Easter weekend. Upon finding out they reopened I was glad to get back and start a routine again after a break due to injury. I can’t believe that they reopened with most of the ground floor out of access which amounts for almost half of the free weights space and majority of the floor for floor work. It would have been more pleasant an experience if you’d fully repaired the issue, replaced the flooring before reopening and stayed closed for longer.
