Connor Stephenson
Hi, I'm Connor! I'm a Personal Trainer here at PureGym Woking and I run CRS Coaching, I have a real passion for strength training, building muscle and helping people discover what they're capable of. Although building muscle and getting stronger are my main interests, I believe training should be about more than just the numbers on a barbell. Whether someone wants to change their physique, lose body fat, improve their fitness or feel more confident in the gym, I enjoy helping them work towards their goals and discover what they're capable of. One of the things I enjoy most about being a PT is seeing people surprise themselves and achieve things they might never have thought possible. My client, Debbie, set herself the goal of lifting 60kg by her 60th birthday, and by the time August came around, she was lifting 80kg! Suzi set herself the challenge of achieving her first pull-up at 50, and we managed to achieve that together in a relatively short time. Seeing clients smash their goals like these is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do, and a great reminder that it's never too late to get stronger. Outside of the gym, I'm a big believer that you can't live like a monk. Getting in shape shouldn't mean giving up every food you enjoy, missing out on meals with friends or making fitness your entire life. Consistency matters, but so does balance. I believe training and nutrition should fit around real life, rather than the other way around. My coaching style is down to earth, straightforward and focused on helping people improve. I won't overcomplicate things with unnecessary jargon or expect everyone to follow the same approach. Everyone has different goals, abilities and commitments, and good coaching should reflect that. Ultimately, I want people to enjoy their training, feel proud of their progress and realise they're capable of far more than they initially thought. If you see me around the gym, feel free to come say Hi!
