Brighton Central member reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very busy, but good gym. I am a University student studying in Brighton and I signed up to the gym as a stress reliever and to keep myself busy when I am not doing work as I was getting unhappy with my physical and mental being - for the first month or so it was fine and working really well, but then I noticed it growing more and more busy - and while I understand that because of the location and flexibility of the gym it is very popular, some of the people can be so rude! (Note: I am NOT blaming this on PureGym themselves) I feel like I can't get a proper workout in and I am constantly self conscious because people stand so close to the equipment I am on, huffing to themselves and rolling their eyes even if I have only been on there 10 minutes. Very good gym, just wish there was more space ect.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too small I regularly use Pure gym in Cardiff and Southampton, as well as Brighton. Brighton is the most expensive branch, and by far the smallest with the least amount of equipment and floor space compared to the other 2 I use. It's always heaving unless you go on a sunday afternoon. Regularly find myself not being able to use the equipment I want to as so many people are waiting, and having to change my workouts as a result. Classes always fully booked and some of them are so booked up you have barely any room. Love the concept and flexibility of pure gym but this particular location I think could do with a lot of improvement.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stop signing people up, too crowded Seriously overcrowded, can barely move at peak times, it’s hazardous, stepping over weights, bags, towels, people! Machines literally packed in, some are so close you can’t change weights safely until the person on the machine next to you has finished their set, one water fountain in the entire place, air con rarely on so it gets uncomfortably hot, the thermostat was on over 25 Celsius today, showers too hot despite leaving several customer comment cards and I know I am not the only one as friends have complained too I’ll give them one thing though, the kit is well maintained compared to other puregyms I have been to (couch cough north finchley)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Brighton I signed up to Brighton gym 5 months ago but found that it’s too busy unless I go before 7am or early/late at weekends. There are no sandbags and really needs a bigger area for floor exercises
