Lack of customer serviceI have been a member of Pure Gym for around 3 years. Due to work commitments to have the opportunity to use many different Pure Gyms and have only had good experiences. However, On Friday 16TH November I visited Sheffield City South - I had booked on Spin at 6.15pm. I was on the waiting list. At 17.50pm I received an email to say I got a spot on the class. I turned upto the class only to be kicked out because my name wasn't on the register that had been printed off at 15.40pm and I didn't have my phone to show the email. I can provide the email, however I am sure this is all traceable on your systems. Besides the embarrassment of being asked to leave the class, despite being booked on - I am also annoyed that I followed the process that Pure Gym ask to be followed and have still been penalised. Definitely won't be visiting this gym again.

Great gym experience.Started working out to improve my fitness in January 2018. Decided to become member of PureGym at the end of October 2018 and have been nothing but pleased so far. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Machines and weights are easy to find and use, yes it can get crowded at peak times but that's expected.
Seems to cater to everyone for every skill level from first time gym goers to seasoned veterans.
Will certainly be staying at this gym for a long time.

atrociousSigned up a couple years ago was great, now its just too advertised. You have to go at stupid times if you want to get on any equipment. Too many members not enough space or equipment.

Good gymI’ve been to a couple of gyms in Sheffield and never found one as good as this one. The classes are amazing and there is so many to pick from and the gym is massive with loads of equipment , I’ve been at this gym 3 weeks now and I’m so glad I’ve joined I’ve got my confidence back and starting to loose weight and tone up. Very happy - also it’s great to get discounts with Myprotein which is amazing

Several things are severely letting this gym down.I've been a member of this gym for nearly 3 years now. I have generally had an ok experience at this gym but after being a member for so long and raising several complaints, nothing is rarely solved. The reason I joined was because of it being open 24 hours - just know that if you use it for this advantage prepare to be disappointed if you need to come at unsociable hours. During peak times when the gym is packed out, it is naturally much warmer. However if you go any later than 10pm during the winter period, prepare to be very cold. At times it has gotten to the point that you've been able to see your own breath INSIDE the gym. Thankfully after complaining it hasn't been that bad for a while but nonetheless the gym is still cold. I suffer from asthma so when I do any kind of intense cardio, the cold air hitting my lungs means I suffer and end up coughing and wheezing a lot. I've raised this issue and they will put the temperature up for a week at most and then it reverts back again. I gave up complaining. The music at night is also ridiculously loud - probably because they keep it at the same volume as it is in peak times which is stupid since its not busy at night. It's like being in a club and if I go to the gym with anyone else I end up having to shout just to speak to them. The other issue which is the most off putting part is their windows aren't covered up enough - why not put tinted windows or more stickers up? People come from the city centre and stare, wave, point, eat McDonald's (which is across the road) - which at times has even been thrown at the windows, some people even go to the lengths of taking photos outside the gym! How can pure gym say they want to encourage people to get fit if they're being intimated by people outside? The car park is not closed off which means people will walk through pure gyms car park and right in front of the windows. Putting a fence up around the car park at the front would clearly be more costly than putting up more stickers or tinting the windows so why is it such an issue to give your gym users more security and not have to worry about people outside putting you off?

Great gym, especially for students!Always something free to use on the cardio side even when busy which is great! The only thing I can really fault the gym on is the temperature (I am writing this in February)... It is far too hot in there, and I get that there are a lot of people moving so it's going to be warm but I find myself too hot just doing my warm up walk - even when there aren't many people in there - it makes my runs on the treadmill almost unbearable and the treadmill fan does not help whatsoever! Other than that there are some great pieces of equipment on both sides and it is a very fair price. But please sort out the air conditioning Pure Gym or I may have to try elsewhere...
