The people in blue...Having read through the reviews, I found it really amazing that there's lots of information on the machines (tbh things I haven't encountered) but not much on the absolutely amazing staff that work there.... so I want to leave a little shout out for them.
Firstly Megan. My PT, my inspiration, my guru. This woman has spent 10 weeks shouting "yes you can, I'm right here" "come on Gemma, lets go, 10 more seconds"*, "you're not stopping, keep going" (*her 10 more seconds is akin to a doctor's "this might sting a bit" but whatever, it works.
And the thing I love most is that she teaches me about the science of how I'm burning fat and losing the weight. I mean, it's not a biology lesson but what it does is makes me think mindfully about how I sequence my exercises and how I mix it up so I don't get bored - which I do, leading to loss in motivation, then dwindling gym visits and trousers that don't fit. I've got a way way better attitude towards food - not all let's have a kale smoothy (Firstly, *vom* and secondly, not something I can sustain) but if I want chocolate that's okay. And mentally (the bit we dont talk about as much when it comes to the gym) I'm stronger, and have way more energy to play with my daughter. Megan been totally amazing from day one - I felt unfit, but I've never felt embarrassed about my limits and if that's not a fundamental quality you want in a PT then I don't know what is.
Mini shout out too to Callum and Jake. Putting aside the fact that they make their classes fun (who knew gym classes could be?!), they watch the progress each person is making week on week and manages to make class work an individual experience (I'm regularly getting loaded up with extra weights for example...!)
The PTs really do work as a team, and PureGym millhouses should be absolutely thrilled to have them on board (and watching out for other gyms that might poach them ;) )
One thing I will agree with is that the free weights section does look intimidating, but most things will intimidate if you don't know how to use them or understand what they do. You cant blame how equipment looks for not engaging with it. The PTs are there to help, ask them what to do - they won't laugh or make you feel ridiculous, they're paid to help (and I suspect even if they weren't they'd offer a hand anyway).
Final plug for Megan (sorry boys) - if you're considering getting a PT have a chat with her, the weightloss and toning I've achieved since Jan is both insane and down to her (plus she makes you laugh in sessions.... What more could you want??)

Some issues with the new gymA bit disappointed with the new gym. Glad to see there is more equipment. However, we've been in a few times recently during peak hours and there are large queues to get in and out, and a bit too busy to use the equipment we wanted to.
The other thing is that the music from spin classes etc. Is ridiculously loud and off putting if you're trying to do your own thing. This is the same case when staff are doing circuit training etc. Last week a trainer was doing a class with about 8 people and started shouting instructions into the microphone to the people attending the class. It was that loud that half the people on the upper level were just staring and probably a bit miffed as it's very off-putting. I think the studios etc could do with being properly walled off for the noise problem.
In conclusion, too busy and classes too noisy and off-putting. Otherwise can't complain. Nothing personal against the guys working there, they seem great - just think this is a problem that could be fixed. Wouldn't want to have to find another gym if it isn't. Cheers

Good but not ExcellentI hadn't been a member of the old gym for very long but was eager to see the new premises when they opened. By in large I'm happy with the new gym, once you've got in. Only two, VERY slow entrance doors. The bikes in the Spin Studio are far better than the old ones and definitely welcomed. However the air con in the Spin Studio does not seem to work properly. Mirrors at the front of the class always steam up so would seem evidence of poor ventilation? Would also like to see wet wipes provided to wipe down the bikes when you've used them or at least someone cleaning them between classes. On evening cycle classes the bikes are dripping with other folks sweat from earlier classes. Its not pleasant!

Could be betterBring back the rope pull!!
There's plenty of room so it should have been brought over from the old gym. It provides a great mix of cardio and strength training and is subsequently a hit with your members. How do I know ??? .... it was always in use.... unlike the new ski machines.

Good gym but deafening music!I am a long term member of Pure gym and like the new gym apart from the music. For the last 3 sessions I’ve spent with my personal trainer we’ve had to leave the top floor because the music is so loud I can’t hear what she’s saying. It seems some of the trainers are putting their own, personal music on (not too much of a problem but some of it is awful - just a very loud beat) but the volume is excessive. I wear hearing aids, normally but thank goodness I don’t wear them to the gym, or I’d lose the rest of my hearing!! I’m not the only one being deafened, other people have also complained. I tried to see someone in the office today but on both occasions I tried, there was no one there. I don’t want to miss out on the new upstairs equipment, but I can’t stand the noise. This was never a problem in the old gym.

Poor ServiceI have been a member at pure gym Sheffield Milhouse Since it first opened in Sheffield. I am a regular to most of the classes and for the first time, I have never felt so embarrassed in one of the classes today. I was booked on a spin class, one of the new instructor's questioned me if I was booked on or not she indirectly asked me to give my seat which was a bit rude. The main problem is that the gym is bigger enough to have a lot of equipment and should be facilitated for those who on according to how many people have booked on a waiting list for the class !!

DisappointedThe new studio really needs a stage like the old place, in a busy class of 40 people it’s impossible to see the instructor, especially if you are at the back of the class.
