Liverpool Central gym reviews

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Liverpool central gym requires more machines I love the 24x7 open feature of this gym. If more machines and dumbles are brought in, then it's best gym in liverpool

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but class booking rules are problematic I like the gym and have no complaints there, but the class booking rules are quite inconvenient. If I can’t attend a class I will usually cancel two hours before, plenty of time for someone on the waiting list to take my place, yet I still end up with a booking suspension. I think the requirement to cancel four hours before the class starts is excessive, especially in situations where the class isn’t even fully booked. I think this should be changed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great environment and quality gym It is awesome gym. I love it but it was just too crowded sometimes

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tidier than usual Not been to central in a while, decided Id prefer to drive to brunswick cause Central's equipment isn't well serviced, people leave weights everywhere and it's generally busier. I was pleasantly surprised this time though, a bit of new equipment and tidy. Hopefully this is what it'll be like more often! Wish you'd repair/replace the broken lockers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Spin Classes The spin instructors are absolutely amazing at the gym, however - the bikes can be a nightmare! I have to arrive 20+ minutes early to get one that fully works, and sometimes even then there aren't any. Most of the screens in the Liverpool Central gym either don't work or are missing completely - this makes the class pretty impossible when a lot of it is watching your RPM. Sometimes the straps on the pedals are missing, or there's some other issue that means there's only a handful of decent bikes in the room. Often instructors will change last minute - which is unavoidable, but it would be handy if you were allowed to then cancel the class without penalty, as some instructors offer very different spin sessions to others. The ladies changing room is fine, but often littered with stuff - although to be fair, this is more down to the people that use it. However there's often no toilet roll in the toilets, and at peak times it's not a sanitary place to be. Overall the gym is fine. Most issues are to be expected with a gym that sees so much footfall. However, the spin bike situation can be really irritating and it would be great if they were checked/fixed more regularly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Alright but not as good as the Widnes Puregym The Liverpool puregym is big but mainly focused on cardio. They have limited squat racks available. Adding more barbells and holders to the cage in the back near the spinning section could possibly solve the problem queues for squats and bench press. The mens changing room has a persistently vile odour hanging round. I normally visit the Widnes gym, which I would rate lot higher, but the Liverpool location is convenient for me when I'm working late.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brilliant gym! Always clean, toilets are always spotless. And the gym itself has brilliant equipment for everyone’s needs. Only complaint is the air con in the women’s toilet/showers isn’t great and the water fountain is non stop running (not great for environment). Could the fountain be mixed?
