It's the little things that let the place downAs one of the more premium gyms in the PureGym portfolio it does disappoint in some areas when compared to other gyms across London and nationwide. However, it is entirely functional and they have some good classes and a couple of really great PTs on-site.
1. The ladies'@ changing rooms are frustrating to use because it is one of the gyms where people store their belongings overnight in the large lockers. This means that while there are large lockers onsite it's rare to find more than a few available because they don't empty them overnight. This simply doesn't happen to the same extent in other gyms. It is harder to understand why the management have allowed this to happen given the gym's proximity to a busy professional working district. A lot of people want to use the gym before work and don't want their work clothes to be crushed by getting squeezed into tiny lockers.
2. The music selection seems really old-fashioned in comparison to other gyms. By way of comparison, the Tower Hill gym appears to have invested in a much more contemporary selection of music which makes working out a lot more enjoyable. Even, the Nottingham PureGym that I visited last month had better music. They should invest and buy a better music bundle as it affects the atmosphere of the gym.
3. The shower doors in the ladies' changing rooms don't all lock/close securely so will start to swing open. This would be a basic fix by a handyman. It would also be good if you coulppd control the temperature of the water as is possible in Shoreditch and Tower Hill.
4. The carpeting in the gym leading to the lower weights area has been pulled up exposing the bare floor. It makes the place look like an unfinished building site.
Other than that the gym experience is fine as it has most of the equipment you'd expect to find. Unfortunately, because I visit other gyms in London and the UK I see how much more effort their management teams seem to be making. At this point, it feels like the gym is purely relying on the prime location to bring in and keep customers as opposed to making an effort to improve things for the members.

Good Gym with all you needGood gym, plenty of equipment
A couple of members treat it like their the only people there and all the equipment is for their use only... but then you can’t really blame the gym for that!

Good gymIt is a good gym and value for money however the changing facilities including the toilets and showers need urgent attention. It is far too warm in there, the showers smell of damp and stale water and there are a lot of flies in the toilet.
