Edinburgh Exchange Crescent gym reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good location Gym was very busy, some broken equipment didn't help. Changing room a bit run down a few broken lockers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from PureGym is good but they can improve 1. Should have more benches for weights training 2. Should have way to limit time on machine/weights (some ppl hold machine/weights for 30+ minutes) 3. Should offer one free session in quarter from trainers or quick 5 minute talk time in a week or month with trainers to understand the workout actions/postures/results. 4. Music on television speakers is not audible in gym, a general fitness music should be audible on gym speakers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convinient, reliable and relaxed Convinient and reliable, access to classes let's you try new things and expand your workouts if you want but also lots of space and freedom to do your own thing too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clean and Friendly Gym easy to navigate, staff always approachable, very clean and never too busy which is great for a city centre gym. Stretching area a little bit small.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Gym Great gym, it’s not huge which makes it less intimidating if you are a first timer. It’s always tidy and clean and all the staff always smile and say hello. Changing facilities are a good size and very clean but can get quiet congested at busy periods. Also when showering I noticed the water is not draining very quickly so it builds up, I think the drains need a look at but apart from that I can’t fault it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Classes not fun, not motivational A few issues with Pure Gym Exchange Crescent. The first one is that there is only 1 water station which has 2 water openings. One of these are terrible and doesn't spit any water out so at peak time there is a queue for this one water station. Secondly, there are no anti bacterial wipes to wipe down machines after a workout which for spin classes can be quiet unhygienic. Thirdly, I have been to a few classes this week, and they have all been terrible. The PT during spin class on Tuesday at 18.00 was looking at his phone the whole time, there was little music and he wasn't giving us any details about the reps (ie sprint, hills, how long we were doing it for). It was not fun at all, and both my friend and I left early to continue our workout by ourselves. The following day I went to a pump class at 17.45 with a different trainer and spent most of the 30min sitting on the floor listening to him. No motivation and hardly any workout was done! It's already a challenge some days to go to the gym so if trainers could make the classes fun and worthwhile that would be great.
