Edinburgh Quartermile gym reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not enough space re Covid. I think you have measured distances from mid-square to mid-square. There is NOT 2m BETWEEN the two squares, so when people are working out next to their bench, they get closer + all the walking to and from equipment is a free for all with no distancing from the squares. Also, people don't clean well enough, so you should have someone just cleaning at all times. There are a lot of people without masks and your safe limit is too high in terms of number of people. I was there when it was "half" full - I found a corner and left after after 25mins.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Showers broken All the showers were broken, water worked for about 30 seconds in one and then that was it for all of them

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problem with Showers not Working Been to the Quartermile 5 times since the reopening. On 3 occasions the showers have not been working. This is over a 3 week period and surely should have been fixed by now. Today the water fountains were also broken.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pure Covid This was my first time in since the closure of gyms and the only thing that had changed was they now have tape around the benches and stations but the benches and stations aren't any further apart they are exactly the same as before so they haven't really changed anything. The stations really aren't adequately spaced, you were probably half a metre away from the people using the benches when you were getting your dumbells. When navigating around all the stations to go anywhere else, the spacing was similarly inadequate. The gym supposedly has a reduced capacity now but there were still around 86 people in the gym which was quite clearly too many for the size of the Edinburgh quarter mile pure gym. To sum it up, it was too busy, the spacing was inadequate which led to the gym being quite chaotic as people just tried to weave around the stations which just led to people coming into closer contact than normal. Also as a side note even ignoring the Covid measures I don't think pure gym is that good, I don't particularly like the equipment I think it's slightly on the cheaper end and the gym tries to balance between being beginner friendly and also being good for more advanced lifters but I feel that the result is a gym that is just meh for both parties.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good to be back Only negative is forgot how noisy it is . Should of invested in better sound proofing . When classes are on it’s too loud

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clear signposts and a very ‘safe’ feel. Love that there’s an app so you can see how busy the gym is, with a limit on the number of people allowed in. That’s helpful. I have a bad back so currently use the gym as my showering place after I walk for an hour and before I go and do other things. Pure Gym was great during lockdown and I’d have happily continued part of my subscription just to help them out.
