Newtownabbey gym reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gym fantastic layout I joined 3 months ago but have put off going as the idea of going into a gym intimidated me. A friend who is a member kept telling me to go with him and eventually I did. I loved it, staff were lovely and gym has a real friendly atmosphere. So glad to have started my journey.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing class I went to a bums, legs and tums class. I am quite new to the gym but we were instructed to do a very short stretch of about one minute to begin. What followed was a high intensity work out that seemed more suited to a boot camp session. It wasn't particularly varied or differentiated for those of different levels. But the most disappointing part was that we were told we had run out of time for stretching at the end so this didn't happen and the instructor left quickly. As someone new to working out and not used to a high intensity work out like that I have been in severe pain ever since because I wasn't given the proper chance to stretch and open my muscles after the workout. I won't be attending this class again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Time to get new Spin Bikes! Participated in a spin class on 11th July, as the class was full, I had to use a bike that was unstable, there was a piece for foam from part of a matt that was placed at the top left hand corner of the bike, but as soon as you started the class the foam moved, and then the bike started to rock from side to side. I had to climb of the bike in mid flow of the class, which disrupts everyone else. As the bikes are used and abused daily, it would be worth checking the bikes before each class ensuring that they are functioning. The other thing is that the spin classes are much too early in the evenings over the Summer months, they need to be a bit later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super gym and value for money I joined pure gym over a year ago and use it regularly. The classes are at good times of the day and are well attended. The early morning classes are particularly good. The instructors are experienced and skilled and I particularly enjoy attending Dominic’s classes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good gym. Poor area and housekeeping Been using pure gyms in dunfermline in scotland Salford and eccles in manchester and now Newtownabbey. Same theme. Not enough weights or plates for the amount of people. Plates left lying at peoples backsides and nobody challenges them to put kit back. Place is convenient if you live in Bawnmore but anywhere else it's a drive to get to. Allow folk in with Celtic and rangers football shirts which should be banned. Should be a gym for everyone without having that nonsense shoved down your throat. Staff seem friendly but always busy doing PT. Could do with a few extra machines like incline chest press . Gym is spotless apart from the mess members leave lying around. They gym in Salford has free to use body fat scales which would be good. Good gym for the money but still thinking of paying the extra 14 quid a month and using DW round the corner.
