About me

For me, training should be two things: effective, and fun. Challenging training, coupled to an enjoyable time in the gym is the key to long lasting success.

My specialist interest is weightlifting for aesthetics, otherwise known as bodybuilding. In its essence bodybuilding is about growing muscle and controlling body fat, two things someone wanting to shed some weight and look good afterwards should be interested in.

Having spent most of my childhood and teenage years overweight, I understand how difficult the first few steps of the fitness journey can feel. To me there is no greater shame than people being turned off from the gym because they show up, work hard, but don’t see the results they want.

As such, the foundation of my approach to training aims to maximise the effectiveness of each rep, each set, each session. I do this by utilising sports science principles and techniques that have been backed by scientific research and have been proven to work.

It is my hope that I can pass on the joy of lifting to others, help those who already train to break through plateaus, and make the gym a more enjoyable space for everyone.
