How to find us

We're based in Cambridge Leisure Park at the junction of Hills Road and Cherry Hinton Road. You can access the club via the Tenpin Bowling entrance next to Nandos - go up the escalators then take the spiral staircase up to the club.

If you're coming by car pop CB1 7DY into your SatNav and park in the Cambridge Leisure multi-storey car park which is one minute away. You can park for two hours for free – any longer and standard charges will apply. Simply insert a Cambridge Leisure Car Park ticket into a validation machine with the bar code facing up. Then, go to a car park payment machine and pay in the usual way. If you have any problems, use the help button at the payment machine or barrier.

Alternatively, the C1, C3, C4, C7, 13, 13A and Cowley Road Park & Ride Citi 1 and Citi3 buses will drop you off at the Leisure Park. The train station is half a mile away. If you’re coming on foot, turn right out of the station then left on to Hills Road. When you reach the Travel Lodge take the stairs on the left into Cambridge Leisure Park. Or, if you fancy warming up before you workout, you can lock your bike at the bike racks around the leisure park.

Cambridge Leisure Park gym reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great gym, unsure of night access Has all the stuff I need for my type of workouts. The gym is 24hrs however the leasure centre closes at 10pm so I'm unsure how I'd gain access to the gym after this time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poorly organised classes I've been a member at pure gym for over a year. Classes are always poorly organised and overbooked. Trainers don't make good use of the space. For example, LBT classes are only 30 minutes, 10 minutes of that is faffing and setting up (mid exercise) and the rest of the class is rushed with no proper cool down. The set up should be clearly laid prior to the start time, people should be guided to make better use of the room and a workout should last the whole 30 minutes (not 15-20mins). Showers at the gym don't work (i tried 6 of them). It just comes down to a lack of planning from the trainers. No complaints about the gym floor, has a lot of equipment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could do better Gym is in need of renovation Ladies Shower has six showers but only three good enough to shower in. As a result you can rarely get in without having to wait.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gym Been to a good view gyms in my time and this one is fine. Well more than fine. It is not just a good range of equipment but a great atmosphere

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken sound system, inadequate air conditioning Over the summer the air conditioning in the weights area has not been operating at all, and the air conditioning in other areas was inadequate. This has limited what exercises I could do: when I tried heavy deadlifts I had to back off as I was overheating to the point where I felt dizzy. The temperature of the gym should be kept low enough that people exercising aren't in danger of heat stroke! The temperature is my biggest issue with the gym, it makes it really unpleasant when it's too hot. The sound system is currently not working in the area of the cardio machines. I know a lot of people bring their own music in, I'd like not to have to sort this out, so I used to listen to the gym sound system, but all you can hear now is a distant rumble as the only working speakers are in the weights area. Given that you get income from adverts on the system you could at least make sure that we can hear it throughout the gym. The equipment is generally worn and shabby. The rowing machines furthest away from the door have fixings holding the base of the foot rests broken making them unusable. Several of the treadmills are dead. The foam blocks used as sleds have their covers split. There are weights missing in the small weights room. many of the dumbbells and kettlebells have their number labels either fallen off or worn to the point where they are not easily read. The padding on the leg machines has compressed and isn't as comfortable as it is meant to be. In the changing rooms many of the lockers don't work properly, there are always lots of small lockers available, but there are not enough of the larger lockers. I commute by motorcycle and sometimes can't get one of the wide lockers by the vending machines that will take a motorcycle helmet. I also sometimes can't get a large locker in the changing room that will take my motorcycle kit, so have to bring in two padlocks and use two smaller lockers, this is do-able, but annoying as it takes longer to use two lockers. One of the ladies toilets has had a lock missing for a long time. Having given you the negatives there are some positive points: It was a good move adding a second leg press and I appreciate that. there was regularly a wait for the leg press. There is some maintenance happening: The foot straps on the rowing machines have been fixed. They were all coming loose after a few strokes, but now are staying tight. The split covers on the leg machines have been replaced. Nice to see some work happening, but would like more things fixed and fixes to happen quicker. It's one of the lower cost gyms in the area. The showers are still frustrating with low water pressure when all are running, but you at least get more than half a second's water from one push of the button on the centre shower on the left which is an improvement over what it used to do. There is a lot of cardio equipment, so even though several treadmills are broken I have always been able to find working machines and have never had to wait for one. Some extra foam rollers appeared, now I can always find one when I want one. Also the green foam rollers are a good length. So overall: please fix the air conditioning as a top priority, and the sound system as a second priority. The other items would be nice too, but not as important as those two.
