London South Kensington gym reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big, wide range of equipment. Feels good. Good value. Near to tube. Other members fitness orientated but no over the top exhibitionism, plus a range of levels. Equipment in good condition and a wide range. Also music not so loud that I couldn't block it out with my own headphones, not that mine is softer, maybe harder, think Eisbrecher, Rammstein...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean, friendly, great atmosphere Great to see cleaners are in doing the rounds of cleaning, thank you! It may be worth having a staff member by the entrance to ask that everyone uses hand sanitiser before they enter? Otherwise I see plenty of people wiping down their equipment before and after. Overall a great vibe in the gym. A huge thank you to Marciano, who helped me find some equipment even though he was with a client. Very much appreciated.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average, cheapish gym. Staff members friendly. Like the design of pure gyms logo. There Is a relatively good range of equipment but the overall and lasting impression I have of PureGym is that it doesn’t feel or appear to be particularly hygienic or clean. In particular, there is very poor fresh air flow in the gym I use, with the air feeling stuffy, sticky and clearly not fresh. This has been a problem in every pure gym I have been to over the years but I feel there is little to no effort being made to improve this given our current epidemic. I certainly don’t feel safe in the gym and adapt when I go and where I work out, or if I even work out. However both other members (out with pure gyms control I accept) and staff members have entered my workout ‘white square’ whilst I am there, adding to the general feeling that I don’t feel safe in those gyms and is doesn’t strike me as clean. Maybe I am unlucky in the gyms I use (being in London, times I go etc.) and I imagine corona is putting a big strain on the gyms but that is my feedback unfortunately.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good There are not enough steps for the 12 class members during the class, only 10 and there was no one left for me. Could you please get 2 more steps? Also the class teachers could smile a bit more during the class.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ok to good 1. Yesterday (Saturday) two of the four ergo rowers were MARKED as out of order. One just needs a screw in the left footplate. The other one turned out in fact to be functioning BUT I only discovered this when I found the gym manager and we checked it. Meanwhile,. the other two had been in use for a solid hour. The net result was that I was unable to have a row which is my principal exercise and main reason for joining. Also the one wrongly marked as out of order had been placed at the end of the row of three rowers, rather than in the middle which would have been more responsible from a social distancing perspective. 2.There is little or no visible management / instructor presence. 3. It would be very helpful if there were a lot more cleaning points - it is generally a longish walk to get to the nearest point which means that you either waste a lot of time walking back and forth to them or you are tempted not to bother. If you had three times as many points there is no reason to think that, overall, any more materials would be used - and so the marginal cost would just be the one off cost of installation of the extra cleaning points. You would however achieve a safer place to work out which is plainly your laudable aspiration

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ventilation and more equipment cleaning is needed. South Kensington branch need much more attention, for members to clean after they use their equipment. Instructors are busy with themselves usually and no one raises awareness to the members. Ventilation isn't working which increases the risk for us. It's a priority that should be dealt with The cleaning team are doing good job but I think more equipment cleaning is needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Already changing my Home Gym For £50 a month I was expecting luxury instead I walked into a grotty, out dated smelly gym. This is my first day at this gym and it will be my last, I’m already looking at changing my home gym as I hate it this much. Gyms in Bristol are nicer and cheaper! So glad I got this half price and 0 joining fee as I’d be asking for a refund so I can join a different gym. The showers aren’t cubicles so very unhygienic, needs totally revamping as it’s very dark and dingy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Charging me while my membership is still frozen I emailed you guys to cancel my membership, still frozen for this month. Not only did you not do that, you charged me money after I cancelled my DD. Even though my membership was still frozen for most of this month. Disgusting behaviour, specially during these times. And with no notification of my membership being Unfreeze by the way.
